How to choose garage floor mats?

Environment - Consider whether the area is wet or dry, indoor or outdoor. Open top drainage mats work best in wet environments, while solid top mats are better for dry areas.
Contaminants - If oil and grease are present, choose mats with high nitrile content (75% or 100%). For general use without heavy oil exposure, 25% nitrile or standard rubber is sufficient.
Usage - Areas with wheeled equipment need mats that can withstand rolling loads without deforming. Look for mats specifically rated as suitable for trolleys and trucks.
Thickness - Thicker mats (12mm-18mm) provide superior anti-fatigue properties but may create trip hazards at edges. Thinner mats (3mm-6mm) lie flatter but offer less cushioning.
Coverage Area - Modular interlocking systems work well for covering large areas or irregular shapes. Roll matting or individual tiles suit smaller spaces.
